HCM Expert Week in Review: Performance Management, Employee Benefits & Millennials
This is a recap of the top stories posted this week related to Human Capital Management. Sit back and, while you enjoy your favorite beverage, catch up on all things HCM.
This week we took a look at some of the best approaches to performance management for companies to consider. Culture Change tops the list of ways to get employees on board and performing better.
Once you hire someone, keeping track of their performance and ensuring they meet goals is important for organizations. HCM helps in this process because it makes employee performance management more flexible and innovative.
If you want to boost employee happiness, it’s also important to think about the benefits you offer for them.
Another feature this week looks at how unhappy U.K. workers say they are at their jobs because of poor benefits. According to a recent study, over two-thirds of U.K. workers said company perks and benefits are important to their overall satisfaction and over a quarter said the lack of reward and recognition for good work is their number one grievance at work.
While we’re talking about who is happiest at work – there is also an influx of millennials into the workplace that is changing the dynamic so much. One recent report even states that these workers are making foul language usage more acceptable in the workplace.
Of 1,500 American that were surveyed by Wrike, about two-thirds of Millennials from both sexes said that they swear at work, with young women being the most likely offenders. Only 58 percent of Generation X and Baby Boomers admitted to doing the same.
Finally, news this week from SAP SuccessFactors reveals that it’s now driving some of the functions behind New Zealand Government.
The New Zealand government recently brought in SAP SuccessFactors - in particular, the government's Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) set up what's called an ICT Common Capability Cloud Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Agreement with the company to allow the New Zealand government to access to the SAP SuccessFactors Human Capital Management (HCM) suite of tools.
This makes it possible to automate several critical functions - from hiring to retirement.
That’s all for this week. Be sure to check back for all the latest in HCM news as it happens. Until next week…
